DOUG WEICH

Doug Weich - Profile
At a very young age, I realised my calling to be an ETA (Elvis Tribute Artist)
Born in South Africa, 23rd August 1967, my passion for Elvis started at a very young age of 8, when I heard the silky, yet powerful voice of Elvis Presley on a vinyl LP. I never looked back since. My passion for Elvis grew stronger by the day. When Elvis passed away in 1977, I was 10 years of age and it was one of the saddest days of my life. All I had left was his music. By the age of 11, I had my first white jumpsuit, rhinestones and all, and it was then that the most fantastic, fulfilling, life changing journey started. At 11 years of age, I entered talent competitions. It was hearing the positive reaction from the crowd that made me realise that I might be able to fulfil my greatest dream, and that is to be an Elvis Tribute Artist. After many, many years of hard work, performing with backing tracks at pubs, restaurants, parties, weddings etc. I eventually started performing in Theatres with a live band and thereafter my shows grew from strength to strength.
After many years of climbing through the ranks, I believe that I have cemented myself a place as one of the top performing ETA’S in South Africa.
